Benners has developed a post system which takes the difficulty out of posts and post holes. Their system allows the installer to stand on the ground and drive the insert into the ground - no ladders! The post is then placed into the 'insert'. A Driving cap is necessary and is used with a sledge hammer to drive the 'insert' into ground.                      

Two sizes of posts utilize this unique process. Posts are galvanized steel, powder coated black in various sizes and lengths to meet your projects specific requirements. Heavy Duty posts are 1 5/8" diameter 9' long. Medium Duty posts are 1 3/8" diameter 7.5' long. 

A Light Duty post is offered in 3 lengths for use in small gardens and vegetable patches. These are driven directly into the ground and can be easily removed at seasons end.

What type of post do you require?  

An important question. The fence has no weight vertically but horizontal pressure from deer, wind, branches etc are factors to be considered. A light post with minimal ground 'hold' will be vulnerable. Benners has developed answers to these issues. Their 'Heavy`posts may be spaced 20`apart and will hold the 7.5`fence well. `Medium` posts much the same as they will be holding the 6`fence. The `Light`posts   10 - 15`apart depending on the height of fence used. 

There are alternative posts available in the marketplace. We must say however that like a house, the foundation is critical for strength and longevity.

Nature`s posts,TREES, are a great way to carry the fence. If they are at least 6 - 8 inches, attaching the fence using `U'nails works well, is easy and quick.  Distances between trees can be more than the recommended 20` spacing. Depending on your specific situation a mixture of posts and trees may be the answer.

Light Duty Garden `U` Post 

May be used for small garden and flower bed enclosures, Poultry enclosures and Dog Enclosures.  In the garden, imagination can find multiple uses for the fence and light posts - berry support, peas, pole beans, flower beds with tall plants, Trellises etc.

Available to match every fence height we offer. Our Garden 'U' Posts are powder coated with a baked on black finish. They also have pre-drilled holes for attaching the fence. The posts have some flexibility to them, it is recommended that they be used for smaller garden enclosures where vertical support is needed.

This product is ideal for small veggy gardens and flowerbeds. They are not deer fence posts and are not recommended for perimeter fence support. The flange, when placed parallel to the fence line, will support the post in lateral movement.

Insert

Both our Medium and Heavy Duty Post kits include an insert which is driven into the ground to make a receptacle for the post. Using a 1" steel bar to create a pilot hole can be helpful. The Driving Cap prevents damage to the insert during the process. This unique system allows for post installation from ground level - no ladders. The posts nay be removed from the insert if the fence line needs to be moved then replaced. A 'knife like' edge end assists ground penetration, a dimpled stopping point located on the insert keeps the pipe at the proper height.

Solid steel - 6" long x 2" diameter.  Essential for proper post/insert installation.  Eliminates "mushrooming" of end.  Driving caps are good for up to 50 posts.

Corner Brace Kit

When using our galvanized pipes for corner supports, it is recommended that corner bracing be installed to keep the posts straight and provide added strength.  Kit includes   2 - 9' long x 1 3/8" diameter pipe and brackets to connect to the corner post.

Fence corner posts can be pulled out of vertical due to the pull of the tension cable. Although this may not compromise the integrity of the fence it could look out of place and be of a concern. This kit will provide stability to the corner post and ensure vertical continuity.

TIP: Under heavy tensioning the post can be pulled vertically within the insert. Drill a hole through the insert and post, then place a screw to hold the post in place.
